Synopsis of the 5th meeting in Olot, Spain, Feb 27th - Mar 2nd 2012
Monday, Feb 27th
On the first day of the 5th project meeting, all the partners arrived according to the estimated time of flight. The participants were received in Barcelona and made their way to Olot together by bus. Arriving in Olot in the evening, the teachers were accommodated in a hotel and the students were received by the host families.

Tuesday, Feb 28th
In the morning the participants were taken to the Cor de Maria School, where a welcome reception was held. The headmistress greeted all partners and a concert and dance was performed by the Spanish students. Following, the participant students took part in a workshop titled ‘my personal treasures’ aiming to facilitate their interrelation and communication. They enjoyed the workshop which helped them to mix. In the meantime, the teachers toured the school led by the headmistress. They visited the two buildings of Cor de Maria - Maria Reina School. Finally, teachers and students were taken on a short excursion climbing up to Montsacopa Volcano, one of the treasures in Olot, from which they could appreciate the view of the whole city.
After lunch at a local restaurant, all participants left for a trip to a nearby town, Figueres, where they visited the Dalí Theatre-Museum, created by the Catalan surrealist artist and had a short walk around the city.

As scheduled, the morning was devoted to the presentations of Theme 6: Local Treasures through Our Students’ Eyes. The presentations were interesting and varied: each school produced a poster, either on paper,or in digital form, or power points and/or beautiful videos of their ‘Local Treasures’. The students showed the treasures that exist in their own community/city through their creativity and all participants gained knowledge of their partners’ countries and culture.
Mid morning there was a reception at the town hall where the meeting participants met the mayor. The local television station attended the reception and interviewed some participants. After breakfast offered by the town hall, all participants came back to the school and continued with the presentations of theme 6.
Before lunch,in the nearby town of La Vall d’en Bas, teachers and students visited the Museum of Volcanoes. In the afternoon, after concluding the presentations of Theme 6, the students continued with the workshop titled ‘my personal treasures’, while the teachers’ meeting was held. After the workshop, the students enjoyed some free-time ,sightseeing the city.
During the teachers’ meeting, teachers were reminded of the date for the last project meeting, to be held in Slovakia, the themes and work to present, as well as the number of participants (teachers and students) attending the meeting, which are as follows:

During the teachers’ meeting, teachers were reminded of the date for the last project meeting, to be held in Slovakia, the themes and work to present, as well as the number of participants (teachers and students) attending the meeting, which are as follows:
The sixth and last project meeting will be held in Bratislava, Slovakia, from 30th April to 4th May. Each school has to prepare:
- Theme 7 – Universal Living Values: each school is going to present a different living value, in the way they decide to do it (power point, video, game…).
- Theme 8 – Our Schools, European Knowledge Centers: this theme has to be included in the final CD/DVD.
- CD/DVD with a compilation of all products created by the school during the project, for themes 1 to 8 and other products not directly related to the themes. The schools will bring one copy for each partner school.
Thursday, Mar 1st
A full day trip to Barcelona was arranged. Participants visited the cathedral of Sagrada Família and the Museum of Camp Nou. After lunch in, a restaurant near the sea, the guests had free time to explore the center of the city: the gothic quarter, the cathedral, Las Ramblas, Plaça Catalunya…
